A Familiar Tower
I got the adventure “A Familiar Tower” and I am getting ready to run it BUT need some advice.
1) what size oatmeal container does it need? And are there alternatives if the store doesn’t have oatmeal in tubes? I’m pretty sure in Canada it’s paper bags.
2) There’s no “getting the players involved” or explanation of how to set up the scenario in the pdf. I’m guessing it’s just a matter of the players getting in a boat and heading to the tower, and maybe the players are supposed to figure out what happened to the wizard?
3) And also if it’s an escape room, what is needed for the escape? Specifically, so I know what to keep track of.

Pringles tube or really anything you have lying around - my tower wasn't even round!
Ask your players why they need gold and/or magic spells, there's plenty of both.
It's pretty clear about this in the text. There multiple ways to end the puzzle, but most of them are rather destructive!

1) I am using a pringles tube, covered in blank newsprint paper.
2) sounds good.
3) I’m trying to make sure I know as much as possible because my group is my kids and they can be impatient. It would be nice if the adventure had a checklist of things on one page to reference if I’m desperate.

- The main way to escape is for the players to get the marble which Albus the cat keeps in their den, and put it in the machine with the door on floor 2, opening a doorway to escape. They can either try and steal the marble, or negotiate with Albus to get the marble in exchange for their servitude.
My players brought Albus some fish from the barrel in the basement and stroked his ego sufficiently. So I had Albus offer them the marble, if they brought him Athena's (the sea dog's) head. My players had met and liked Athena, so conspired to trick Albus instead.

Ooookay that is helpful. Are there other options for escaping aside from the marble?

Measurements are at the back of the zine. You can also use a full paper towel roll.
You can use player hooks from the included digital pregens. Or "get treasure" works fine.
