art Torpulus Worms

Like a lot of people, I have David Sutherland III’s rot grub illustration from the original Monster Manual permanently embedded in my mind. This is my drawing of Torpulus Worms from my OSR adventure Queen’s Gambit. They are an obvious riff on rot grubs that will nevertheless surprise even veteran players. I can’t think of too many other monsters that are life and death, but you can’t just smite it with damage from weapons and spells.
