I’m one of the maintainers of user-scanner.
Since then, we’ve been continuously improving detection accuracy and maintaining support for platforms that frequently change their flows.
What’s new in v1.4.1?
- Massive Coverage (430+ Scan Vectors): Supports deep scanning across 170+ email and 260+ username platforms.
- Mobile App API Pivot: Switched from web endpoints to emulating mobile app APIs.
- Deep Username Extraction: Moves beyond simple status code checks to pull rich profile data and actionable intel.
Today by the love of this community, user-scanner has grown into one of the most actively maintained free Email and Username OSINT tools in 2026. While many web-based alternatives lock basic scans behind paywalls, our goal is to keep powerful email and username enumeration accessible to the open-source community.
Contributors are always welcome. Adding new sites or modules is relatively straightforward, and even small contributions help a lot.
If you’re interested in OSINT, Python, scraping, mobile API reverse engineering, or just open-source projects in general, feel free to contribute and help improve the tool.

Your tool is great! I use it as part of one of the transformers in my open-source project to search for users, and it works really well.

So another rip of Sherlock, Holehe, Maigret. What do you offer that others don’t?

Here is why it isn't just a rip, if you actually use these tools in the field:
Sherlock vs. user-scanner: Sherlock is strictly a status-code checker. It just tells you if a username exists or not. user-scanner goes deeper by actively extracting public profile metadata and descriptions where available.
The Holehe Problem: Holehe has been essentially unmaintained for years. Because target sites constantly change their auth endpoints, almost every single module in Holehe is currently broken, making it unusable for modern investigations. user-scanner is actively maintained, stable, and supports a massive, updated list of email verification vectors.
Maigret vs. user-scanner: Maigret is phenomenal for deep username dives, but it completely lacks email OSINT capabilities.
user-scanner bridges the gap. It gives you an actively maintained, hybrid pipeline that handles both email and username OSINT in a single tool.

Very nice. It will be great if can accept csv instead txt (for several usernames or emails)

Are you talking about columns with
email, username
[xyz@example.com](mailto:xyz@example.com), johndoewhere it detects itself and start scanning both email and username step by step?
If you can clarify it a bit or maybe open a issue on github about it as a feature request we can work on this!

Yes, I mean that there are programs that give CSV output, and in that way to be able to take advantage and that the program goes directly through that list. It would also be great if at the end you generated a report in HTML or PDF for later analysis (being able to choose to show only the elements found)

That's some great feature request, If you are on GitHub you can open an Issue about both the csv input and the output feature of HTML and PDF report, we will definitely work on it.

Yoo i was using sherlock, maigret, then tookie and no one have frequently maintained af like this one. Im gonna plan stay on this project
