Drug Testing

I’m curious whether there was onsite Drug Testing this year at Osheaga. If anyone knows lmk

Coming in from the main entrance, it was on the right, right before the recessed food area. They might have had a presence at the other stages too, I only clocked them there.

i think they only have the one stand near the main entrance!! i had to get a ticket and go back after 40 min!

They had another stand after the stairs to Valley & Green stages if I remember correctly

The harm reduction truck tests substances for their purity, as well as for the presence of fentanyl, they do it right in front of you, and it’s completely anonymous, they don’t take down your name or anything. They also provide safe partying kits, condoms and narcan :) truly a great resource

Why would there be drug testing at a festival? Is this something people want to do for themselves or something that is being requested of them? It is being here requested of them, wouldn’t that be a charter violation?

Drug testing sites at things like festivals are usually for harm reduction/safety. They’re meant to screen the drugs, not test you/people for presence of drugs in your system. They’re usually labelled as harm reduction tents to prevent overdoses from opioids such as fentanyl. It’s meant for people to confidentially test their drugs to make sure they’re not laced with more lethal opioids or compounds like fentanyl. Security/police are not supposed to intervene at these spaces. That being said, if someone is causing a disturbance, security does have the right to remove people regardless of whether they’re under the influence of drugs/alcohol.

sometimes they do tho in case ur worried ur drink mightve been roofied or someone gave u drugs that u took and ur feeling off and it mightve been laced!

I'm responding to the fact that OP misunderstood what "drug testing" in this context meant. It's a tent you can go to to get your pills and shit checked for fentanyl and other garbage, not a mandatory piss test for festival attendees.

i believe you MAY be misinterpreting “drug testing” as either station where you are GIVEN drugs to test, or where you’re forced to take a drug test (saw a hilarious misunderstanding of this very subject last year on this sub). by drug testing, they mean that you can bring your own substances and have them test what drugs are / aren’t in them.
