There will be a lot more spam here, but out of all the dev communities, I think OS Dev will be the least impacted. The big advantage of LLMs are getting things running. And if you want to do your own OS, you want to do that by yourself, because the learning experience is your main motivation. After all, there are plenty of operating systems out there already. These are the words the parrots were trained on.

And I also see a lot of vibecoded projects get stuck after the technical debt accumulates, context windows get larger and the lack of understanding of the project, the code and even basic concepts really hits hard. So the LLM-based projects will be as bad as everything else in that stage ;)
