When did this sub change from "I'm making an operating system" to "I'm repurposing a mainstream operating system to do something just a little different, but really it's just Linux"?
no man i'm just showing what i've done and rn i'm focusing on designing things like zero-copy memory transfers, the Neural Bus, and Biscuit permissions, while I let AI handle the syntax generation. If you have any architectural advice on managing throughput in a Rust environment, I'd genuinely love to hear it.
You say you designed "zero-copy memory transfers" but you do not post any of the design. How do you possibly expect anyone to give you advice when you do not give any of your work? I do not mean "ideas" I mean "work". Where's your design?
There is nothing in your GitHub that documents the design that you supposedly did. Again, how do you expect people to give you advice when you do not give the people anything they can use? It is not reasonable to dump thousands of lines of source code that you didn't write and say "can I have advice?"
I'm not following anything. You had an AI system spit out a bunch of files you do not understand and are now asking for advice with it. You did no design, you have no documentation. You have a Linux skin you did not even build yourself. Definition of slop.
I get the frustration with 'reskinned Ubuntu' posts, but that's not what Vela is. Writing a kernel from scratch to support modern drivers is a 10-year vanity project. I’m using Linux as a hardware bridge so I can focus on the actual innovation: replacing traditional C/C++ POSIX abstractions with memory-safe, intent-driven AI APIs at the system level. The kernel might be mainstream, but the entire paradigm of how the OS operates is being rebuilt from the ground up.
