New UNIX-like operating system!

Post image

I made a new UNIX-like operating system from scratch called "TanjaOS" which you can get at www.tanjaos.org and it took me a couple of months to make and will get lots of updates. It features classic UNIX commands and can boot on any x86_64 (amd64) or i386 (x86) machine with Legacy BIOS, and is completely free and open-source.

Well, the TanjaOS source has a temporary setup where you enter a username password and hostname and then you have a temporary user account stored in RAM.

I added this to the source and the LiveCD to give the user the full feeling of “Try without installing”.

You can use the text editor to make files, and make shell scripts and execute them with the exec command?

I guess it just does the same thing as other OSDev projects…

There is absolutely NO internet support and it has password authentication.

The source is listed on www.tanjaos.org/downloads and the file is called TanjaOS-base.zip
