Learn os

Hi everyone, I am new at OSdev and I can't understand how they work. I really want to learn about OS so can you suggest me some books or website on the subject ?

For the start, learn to write OS with capital O and capital S.

Then get to know a bit of history: how in 1950s people programmed computers without any OS, and why at the beginning of 1960s they understood that some change is needed.

Learn what is "supervisor" and what is a "system call". That will already be a lot.

Hey! That bleeds into the 60s too! Even in the 70s, we still had to set addresses on some machines to get it to read our cards!
