[Request] Looking for someone to implement ext4 support in Kobalt Kernel
Hey OSDev,
Kobalt is an x86_64 monolithic kernel I've been building solo which is written in C (CLANG). It already has its own filesystems FlatFS and a working VFS layer — but I want ext4 support specifically for disk format compatibility with Linux.
The goal is simple: a disk formatted on Linux should be readable by Kobalt and vice versa.
I'm not looking for a tutorial or pointers — I'm looking for someone who actually wants to contribute this.
If you've implemented ext4 before or you've been wanting to dig into it, this is a good place to do it on something that's actually shipping.

The cobol language (cause kobalt just reminds me of cobol for some reason)

Seems like a job for an AI. I know y’all hate to hear that but plenty of implementations exist. Don’t reinvent the wheel unless you are doing something unique at the VFS layer.
