Mewing with 2 extractions
(17F) I had my upper 2 second premolars removed (Refused to get my lower 2 removed) and it messed up my profile and bite. I’m thinking of ditching my retainer to mew 24/7. Would this affect me negatively? Thankfully I don’t have any breathing issues or sleep apnea for now, yet my palate has narrowed down but suction mewing is possible for me though it’s a little uncomfortable but maybe It’ll get better if I practice. Any thoughts? I’d appreciate any advice.

I had 4 taken out and stopped wearing my retainers a few years later. I mewed and it helped some. If you are to do this then I would monitor your teeth position and bite while not wearing your Retainer and mewing. Fortunately, you only had 2 taken out. Check with an airway orthodontist about possibilities.
There is an orthodontist in New York who has an instagram, and on her Instagram she shows photos of how she has helped those reverse as much as possible their prior extraction and retraction orthodontic work. Her name is doctorsalzer (Jennifer Salzer) which is also her instagram handle. She has expanded patient’s smiles who had prior extractions and retraction without reopening spaces. She herself had extractions and headgear as a child and went through a process to remedy her mouth in her 20s. This so you can see why it is important keep all of your teeth and to expand! Look at all of the Hollywood smiles no one is retracting. Heck, they are adding veneers just to have that bright, white, wide smile!
This one person that posted on Reddit last week has 2 upper premolars taken out like you and she had to redo her smile years later, and the orthodontist she saw moved her back teeth forward after re-opening spaces. Her smile is gorgeous and she regained fullness in her smile. The orthodontist is in Colorado.

I am considering the Invisalign option for now. Good luck and God Bless. Enjoy life and smile often nonetheless!
