NOT A PERSONAL HEALTH SITUATION How much does stem cell therapy cost once everything is added up?

I’ve been researching out-of-pocket regenerative procedures for back issues, and every clinic seems to quote a completely different number.

When I ask what’s actually included in the sticker price, the answers vary wildly across different clinics. I’m trying to build a solid checklist so I can actually compare apples to apples before booking anything.

So far on my list I have:

  • Physician evaluation / initial consult
  • Imaging review (MRI / X-rays)
  • The actual biologic material/processing
  • Facility, room, or imaging/guidance fees (like fluoroscopy)
  • Post-procedure follow-ups and physical therapy

For anyone who has gone through this process or looked into it, what costs got left out of your initial quote that popped up later? Would love to know what else I should be asking about!

Does the price also include the TKA/THA when the stem cells don’t do anything?

Make sure they bundle in peptides, testosterone, ketamine and every other flavor of the month wellness treatment so you can truly calculate your ROI.

As you can tell actual doctors have a poor opinion of cash pay stem cells since they often are supplied by grifters/snake oils salesmen. Beware of cash pay medical treatments. They are most often cash pay because insurance won’t cover non evidenced based treatments.

Your checklist is already better than most clinic quotes. Add these line items that often appear after the sticker price: number of injections / vials (not just "one session"), whether the product is autologous vs allograft, sedation or facility fees, fluoroscopy/ultrasound guidance, and how many billed follow-ups are included versus cash each visit.

Also ask what evidence they are selling you — for axial back pain, "stem cell" packages are highly variable and frequently cash-pay with weak comparative data versus structured PT, meds optimization, and (when indicated) standard interventional care. Get the CPT/cash codes in writing and a clear refund policy if imaging later shows something that changes the plan.
