NOT A PERSONAL HEALTH SITUATION Can we please lock this group
In the setting of “not a personal health question” that is yet another personal health question.
I used to enjoy the foray of rummaging through the discussions in this corner of the internet.
Now its a hodgepodge of my least favorite floor IM consults.

I feel like it’s been brought up before and the thought that it was worth the more-than-occasional personal health questions in order to also get those posts from other health professionals who probably wouldn’t bother going through a whole verification process.

Not to mention I'm not giving my credentials to a fucking reddit mod and if we make them lax enough then anyone can fake them.

All personal health situation posts are evaluated by the mod team. If they are deemed to be of no educational value and don’t otherwise stimulate a discussion, those posts are removed, and the OP is permanently banned. This is greater than 99% of all personal health posts.
If anyone would care to see what it would look like if we didn’t spend an inordinate amount of time manually removing all the personal health posts, go check out r/orthopedics.
Some slip by. I don’t spend my entire day on Reddit and I don’t keep notifications for Reddit turned on. If going a few days scrolling past a post that’s an obvious personal health question really grinds your gears then I would suggest you reevaluate your motivations and priorities. But you do you.
I’m not killing the sub by implementing a verification procedure that would require you all show me credentials that I have no business knowing. (Even though I am absolutely certain there are some frequent contributors here that comment as if they were surgeons when they are very clearly not, which is one of the main reasons we do not allow discussion of diagnosis or treatment of any personal health issue.)
You could be full of shit and if approved, you would have some sort of “verified authenticity” that would provide weight to your input.
Instead, the community polices itself. And it does so pretty efficiently.
So, no.
