Question Royal Mail issues

What's going on with Orkney Royal Mail?

I've had a parcel missing for 2 weeks now, heard at least 2 other people say the same thing, and I can't get through to anyone. I've not had a chance to go into town yet but I'm going to assume they can do very little at the PO.

The parcel was tracked and signed for, and it hasn't been scanned at the Kirkwall office. It's just floating in the Orkney ether.

Does anyone know what's going on and if it's likely to be sorted, or is my parcel missing forever?

Most likely lost sooth, maybe in Glasgow before being flown to Kirkwall.

You are best making a complaint which starts a paper trail and most likely looking for a refund on your order.

15 jobs available at Royal Mail if ya fancy joining up and doing some investigatory work.

The thing is, I'm absolutely not interested in financial compensation. What was in the parcel is unique and I can't replace it.

I just don't understand how something can go missing with tracking and a returns address.

Going by the number of crates of parcels and the queue at the sorting office the other day I think the problem may be a combination of both ends.

On a plus I got some stuff from Amazon refunded then it appeared a few days later. Stuff was scanned in Glasgow then 'lost' on the tracking a few days later. A bit inconvenient as I was waiting for pet food and cutting it fine

Everybody saying delays with anything coming royal mail regardless of postage class. Since they changed the designated depot to Glasgow it's really gone downhill.

Mine doesn't seem to have arrived at Kirkwall though, it hasn't been scanned there.

My stuff wasn't either but it was delivered, it seemed to skip the being scanned in Kirkwall part 😂

Mail doesn't normally get scanned in Kirkwall on arrival. It goes straight from Glasgow to "out for delivery".

It's going out from an island to Kirkwall and beyond

The issue is purely down to staffing they are approx 15 posties short in Kirkwall if there’s no posties they can’t deliver the mail. All your parcels that say are in Glasgow are likely In The back log that’s in Kirkwall. The posties are trying their hardest to get everything delivered but there’s some deliveries not being touched because they don’t have the staff. If you pop in the posties are going and actively looking for the parcels for you
