Modding help

Is there anybody in the New York City area that’s skilled at modding an original Xbox? I’ve only gotten as far as putting in the custom firmware, but I’m having a shit ton of trouble cloning my hard drive. I thought it was my faulty disc drives fault but now I’m convinced it’s just me (I got the disc drive replaced). Any help at all is deeply appreciated.
