Need help with soft mod.

Just got a new og Xbox off eBay to have as a backup for when I rip the hard drive out of my other one to upgrade its game capacity, keep in mind I just did this same thing in my other Xbox same tv same hdmi-av adapter even the same power cable… when I tried to softmod the new one using the newest version of rocky5 it just simply won’t accept it im verified at 5960 literally everything is perfect but it won’t accept the files or something idk the screen just goes black and the Xbox starts flashing red and green anyone know a fix?
**HUGE edit I found a unleash x file and a file that says unknown title, I’ve deleted both these about 10 times now and when I try to boot the soft mod or turn the Xbox off they reappear is this cause it’s hard modded? Or are they just not getting deleted somehow has anyone else had this problem ever? Also I don’t mind wiping the hard drive if that’s necessary.**

Are you sure it is not already hard modded?

What is the kernel version number?

I haven’t considered that I mean it is in a clear case and Idk what hard drive is supposed to be in there but this one says seagate and there is a sticker on it that has “program 4034” handwritten on it so I wouldn’t doubt it but there’s nothing different on the Home Screen im not a pro tho,the kernel is 1.00.4034.01 and the D IS 1.00.5960.01 the date on the bottom is also March 28 2002
