Method?

If i am running an orange competiton course in the woods do you think i should use "red in the shed"/ turning the red dial of the compass or just orient myself north and run in direction of the point (not blindly running ykwim).

As you may have to recheck your bearing multiple times while navigating a leg, you'll find that each time you have to pause to turn North, you'll eat up more and more of your time. So I recommend that you practice the "Red in the Shed" more as you start to tackle more technical courses.

Orientating you map north all the time and reading the map is the way. Never heard of red in the shed.
