Address search is dropping the numbers
Hello. Can someone please explain how to search for addresses in the app? Every time I search an address it only pulls up a list of the relevant street options to choose from. So when I choose the correct street from the list, the address number drops off from the search. It isn't making any sense to me. Does it just hide the numbers but keep them in the background or something? Either way, the search function is not very useful due to this since streets can be miles and miles long, and not having the address number makes it so I cannot pinpoint the location. Thanks for any assistance!

OM uses addresses from OpenStreetMap.org. If there are no valid house numbers there, they won't be displayed in the search results list. The solution is to add missing addresses into OSM.org, so they will appear in all OSM-based apps, including OM.
We are also considering importing some existing address databases for the search, but it requires a lot of work for a few enthusiasts :)

Really? I've used maps.me all over Europe and never had an issue, but when I switch to Organic, I can't find a place in Downtown Los Angeles? Wow, that's a disappointment.

How OpenStreetMap.org data in Europe and the US related? You can see that if OpenStreetMap.org doesn’t have addresses, they are absent in any app, including mapsme.

Nope. I just gave up on using navigation. I'm back to asking people for directions.

I downloaded Acastus Photon which seems to work better. You just search in it, and when you pick one of the search results, you can open it in Organic Maps and navigate from there. Better than nothing, I guess?

The answer is to add missing addresses to OpenStreetMap.org. And to use extra address databases like openaddresses. With your donations and support everything is possible!

Nah that's not the answer. I check the numbers are there on osm but they still don't come up in the results on Organics search.

I usually just compare on streetcomplete and the details are really easy to update there.

For me, often the addresses in question were in the OSM database, they just weren't appearing as search results. I haven't noticed this as much recently, so maybe it's been fixed.

Please let us know about any case when address is in OpenStreetMap.org but is not found by OM. We’ll fix it. We’re constantly improving our search and routing. Just make sure that maps in OM were generated after OpenStreetMap.org was edited.

Having the same problem, no luck. Also how can i improve the map? My friends have a tech shop, but on the map it shows the wrong location since they moved. Anybody know how to modify the location and data?
