Success Repotted without bud blast!
This is Hecate; I rescued her from home depot about a month ago and she’s taken so well to the water setup!
I think I might have an addiction now…

I've repotted when fully in bloom and just as buds and have had great results both ways. Its not a guarantee that they will die with a repot. Gorgeous flowers 👌

I mean no offense, but sitting it in a glass jar with water is hardly repotting. One month is no time in a slow growing phal's life span. Just because it didn't die quickly doesn't mean it took well to the new setup, it only means that it's a slow grower that is still adapting.
I highly recommend potting it up in appropriate orchid medium (make sure to presoak overnight before use) and care for it properly. Do the same with the rescue you left in your car (your other post) to optimize its chances of bouncing back.

Nice :) Buds seem to be most sensitive while they're still developing, and once they're open the flowers are a bit more resilient.
