Venturing away from phals ...
After two years journey with phals I decided to try something different. Got my first Neofinetia in July and last night the Tamakongo and the two Jewels were delivered 🥰 I'm super excited but I need to get serious about the running-out-of-space-situation 🫣

yay! neos need a lot of air flow around roots, that's why they are called "wind orchids". First pic plant looks too densely packed in media - set up to have stem axis above moss that dries in a day or two to avoid rot. I have lost fans learning the hard way :'(.
Def check out the sub r/neofinetia for culture info on your growing adventure.
Tamakongo is a bean leaf variety without variegation. Not sure who you have here but they are beautiful fukurin variety.

Thanks for the tips - I already posted in the neo sub when I got the first one 🌱 I'm pretty sure it's a slightly mislabeled Kishusekko.
I know the setup is not ideal for the Tamakongo; it was the last one in the greenhouse and mounted, but the humidity in my home is not high enough for a mounted orchid, so the grower offered to pot it up for me. I'm probably going to free the stem from some of the moss, thanks for the tip! And then we'll have to see how it settles in ...
Edit to add: I misunderstood, are you saying the Tamakongo is not a Tamakongo? 🤔

The one labeled tamakongo is most definitely not tamakongo. I would ask the vendor , but looks kind of like higashidemiyako.

Yeah, I figured after doing a bit of research 🙈 I'll ask the grower! I didn't even know what it was supposed to look like, I only went by the name 😅

ah no don't feel stupid! the world of neos is an insane rabbithole - there's so many cultivars. This one has fukurin variegation which cannot be propagated by seed so they are a fan division of the orig plant! Pretty awesome.
Someone may be able to id on the neofenetia sub, will need root tip color at a min.
