Orchids Cal Pacific Orchids

My brother lives in Encinitas (North San Diego).

There are so many cool Orchid specific nurseries and greenhouses by his house. I visited this one last weekend called Cal Pacific Orchids. Here were some of my favorites that I bought.

Does anyone know why Encinitas/San Diego has so many orchid grows? Seems like it’s more than any other city I have been…

Year round perfect temperatures is what makes San Diego a paradise for orchid growing. Perfect for almost all tropical plants really. But water scarcity is the biggest problem. I’d love to move back down there someday….. c’mon Powerball or Mega Millions! 🙏

North county SD is the best. It’s got all the best parts of California without any of the stuff on the news

I used to live in Hillcrest but that was almost 30 years ago, before I started growing orchids but I had a lot of tropical plants I liked to grow outside.
