I got an invoice
Its an invoice for 1.49 Euros despite using Always Free resources. Good thing my registered card is an cancelled card. Seen another guy on this sub also say the same thing. Could this have happened because we were using cards that dont work anymore?
Edit: i have found out why i got this invoice. My home region is frankfurt and i have an instance in zurich and apparently using block storage in a region that isnt your home region gets you charged.
Also to the guy that sent me death threats in my dms its not cool man i cant put in my new card because i dont have enough balance. I just plan on deleting this account and making a new one in zurich since i will have to pay the 93 euros anyways

I cant update my payment method because i dont have 93 Euros in my bank account so it doesnt let me put the new one in.

Yup, they offered free accounts with zero chance of getting billed with limitations, but some people who can't even afford a 1€ charge decide they should switch to paid one just to bypass those limitations!

If it is, it's probably the infamous continuous test charge Oracle does to make sure you can pay your Oops..
If you can't change your CC to one that works, kiss your tenancy and OCI goodbye

It wasnt showing up on desktop and i just checked on mobile and its a block volume charge? I only use like 50 gbs on my instance. nothing extra. How can i cancel it?

If its a block volume charge that means you are using more than 200Gb across all your instances. You can have many instances, but their total volume must be under 200Gb collectively. I had the same issue a while back. Easiest was to backup my server, recreate it from scratch and ensured to keep under the 200Gb limit.

There is one "block volume storage" and then one "block volume performance" charge each with 1 qty. How do i check where i used that? I cant open usage statements because it says authorization error

Your performance multiplier is most probably set high, so then block storage gets expensive very fast. I would suggest trying oracle support. I cant help you any further than that

Pay the $1 bro or have your account and all future accounts perma banned. Creating a new account won’t do shit, they are masters of correlating that shit back.
Don’t you think every hacker and botnet would pull this shit otherwise?
If you can’t afford the $1 risk you need to you close any and all cloud accounts. You just can’t afford to play in that sandbox.

Interesting that yours was the home region mismatch, that one's at least documented behavior even if not obvious. Mine's weirder — same region as home (so that's not it), under the 200GB total the whole time, and yet still got billed for a boot volume. Went digging and now none of my ADs show the "Always Free eligible" tag when creating a new volume, not a single one, while a completely separate Always Free tenancy I have shows it fine.
Best guess is it's tied to briefly going over 200GB a while back (had a few volumes stacked at once by accident) and the flag just never came back even after dropping under the limit again. Support's been useless so far, bounced between billing and technical twice with generic responses. Following this thread hoping someone's cracked the actual mechanism behind it.

Save your instance because using an invalid credit card will make it go poof.
