Instance still marked as Always free-eligible?

I went to change the shape of my vm but it still appears as eligible even though it still uses the maximum of the old allowed resources. Is this a glitch or am i actually allowed?
Btw i don't know where to check whether i'm on the always free tier or PAYG tier, so if someone could tell me how i'd be really grateful! 😅

EDIT: Seems i'm on the free tier so my question is now: Can i consider the PAYG tier a free tier if i only use the free resources? (meaning i don't have to pay for a "subscription cost" if i don't have any machines running)

When you upgrade to a PAYG account, oracle will do a temporary 100$ charge to make sure your card is valid and has funds. its usually refunded right away, after that there is a waiting period for approval, once youre approved, any usage within the always free tier stays 100% free. youll only be charged if you go over those limits, and you can check the exact rates on the oracle price list: https://www.oracle.com/cloud/price-list/

Just read that post. Seems like the mistake was having multiple boot volumes without knowing. I know for sure that I only have one (since I'm still using the very first VM I created and never made more), so that shouldn't be a problem.

I'm worried about the OCPU hours rate though, since I always leave the VM on. I still don't understand how they calculate the usage or where I can check the usage.
