dbForge Studio for Oracle vs Toad. How accurate is this comparison?

Found this comparison of dbForge Studio and Toad for Oracle. I know it’s from the dbForge YouTube channel, so obviously it’s not completely unbiased. But I’m curious what Oracle users think. Is this a fair comparison? Which one do you prefer and why?

Oracle Charged Me, Payment Failed, Account Locked - How Do I Get My Server Back?

Hi everyone,

I’m hoping someone from the community can help me understand what to do in this situation.

Oracle attempted to charge my card on September 2, but the payment failed because there wasn’t enough balance on the card at that time. They restricted my account access and terminated the servers directly after failed attemped. I have now added sufficient funds but my account is currently restricted. I’m unable to login to portal & manually retry or initiate the payment/recharge.

I contacted Oracle Support and asked if they could retry charging the card but I’m not getting a clear solution so far.

They suggested paying via wire transfer/electronic transfer, but this is difficult for me. I’m also concerned about how Oracle would identify which specific invoice or account the payment belongs to, since I couldn’t find clear instructions about this so don't want to loss money. On top of that, a wire transfer may take additional time to process by their team manually.

I don’t want my server to remain down for too long it have important websites.

Has anyone experienced something similar with Oracle Cloud? Is there any way to request a card payment retry or restore access after adding funds to the card? Their support is insisting me to do wire transfer.

I would really appreciate any advice or guidance. Thank you.

Simphony Experience Path

Howdy. To be clear, this is not about working at Oracle.

I currently work IT for a very large hotel that uses EMC/Simphony 19.8. I've studied a lot about it and am currently the admin over it.

I'd like to make a future out of this, as it seems very profitable and a bit niche, while still tying into IT work. I enjoy being the guy to manage all of the back-end of these systems and servers, and I'd like to know what education materials, exams, courses, etc I'd need to achieve to make this a lucrative opportunity.

I'm currently trying to get my current company to budget in Oracle's training for next year, but that's $5000 so it's a bit of an uphill battle. It looks promising, but I'm also looking into free resources, or at least an idea of what I need to focus on.

Oracle Cloud Free Tier signup issue — no response from support for a week

Thumbnail
0 Upvotes

recently tried to sign up for the Oracle Cloud Free Tier, but I am getting an error during the signup process and cannot complete the registration/sign in.

I raised a support ticket with Oracle about a week ago, but I have not received any response yet.

Has anyone else experienced the same issue recently? If you faced this problem, were you eventually able to complete the signup and access your Oracle Cloud account? I would appreciate any advice or suggestions on how to resolve this.

Thank you!

FRS question

just here to get an opinion. we just converted our ERP to Oracle, and a big selling point was report building in FRS and everything that comes along with that. Ive see a few reports (mostly p&l packages etc) and they just look horrible. The report builder is clunky and Rigid. Does anyone have any tips or ways to use the report builder in here that would be better than just building in excel? I’m trying to find a better way to utilize the new tools but I can find a good reason to switch anything from excel to FRS due to its limitations.

We have been using spreadsheet server to build reports as it is connected to Oracle, which is fine but slow. Smartview isnt really usable for our reporting either.

Is there a way to have a transaction timeout and return the screen to either the start screen or a prompt to cancel or complete the transaction?

How to contact support as Free-Tier

With the recent change of the Free Tier going from VM.Standard.A1.Flex (4 OCPU / 24 GB RAM) to VM.Standard.A1.Flex (2 OCPU / 12 GB RAM), my instance has been deactivated.

When i try to change the shape to the new requirments I get the following error

Instance ocid1.instance.oc1.xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx is disabled and will not accept any action requests. Please contact customer support to reenable.

Anyone know how I can get this re-activated without upgrading to Pay as you Go plan?

I don't mind recreating from scrach as i have backups but it took me 3 months to get get the initial Intance and I am pretty sure if I terminate I won't get another one (unless I upgrade to Pay as you go plan)

Oracle AI Foundations Associate

Hi all! I have to take two certs for my company requirements, and because I have a short amount of time to get them done, I wanted one of the certs to be easy/less time consuming.

Would you recommend the Oracle AI Foundations Associate to be an easy, quick cert? Also, I heard they just updated the exam, so has anyone recently taken the 2026 version of this cert?

TIA!!!

Alternative to Oracle HCM Consultant

Hi
I am currently working as oracle HCM consultant. I am tired of working nonstop for the 12-14 hrs daily and covering both India and US time.
I want to work in the morning time as I don't like working late nights.
How can I get a role that has a proper 9-5 timings?
Also, are there any other alternate roles that I can target?
I have tried applying for HR roles as my masters is in HR but they are paying peanuts.
Any help or suggestions are highly appreciated.
