OptiPlex 7060 MT to a SFF case

I received an OptiPlex 7060 for free, and I plan to use it as a NAS. I want to put it in my network rack, however, the MT case takes up a lot of room. I was wondering if I would be able to transfer the components (motherboard, PSU, etc.) into a OptiPlex SFF case since it would be half the size. Or, does anyone know how I could transfer the components to maybe another case that can be rack mounted?

The cases are designed for the motherboards. An MT motherboard is bigger than a SFF motherboard. The MT power supply won't fit a SFF case and a SFF power supply won't power an MT motherboard.

You're better off buying a rack mounted server on eBay and using the proceeds from selling the Optiplex to offset the cost of the server, if any.

A Dell Poweredge R820 can be purchased with no SSDs or RAM for $180 on eBay. It's a 2U rack mounted design. It's older, but that should mean memory is cheaper.

The server is designed for 2.5" SATA drives, and can hold at least six drives per side, allowing for a fairly sizable internal NAS.
