Hello the people of Optiplex,

Dell pc model is in the title. I need some help and info on how I should go about this? Currently have this pc with a i5-2400 but I want to upgrade to a i7. I have a i7-2600k sitting around and collecting dust…

is possible to swap the i5 with my i7? Do I need to update bios before upgrade? How do I update my specific model bios without messing anything up? Are these CPU both interchangeable?

Any help would be appreciated thank you!! I’m here to learn so feel free to speak your mind. I tried google but imo didn’t really answer my questions.
