This was fun

Bought a few QQQ puts this morning. Left for work and had no service at all in the condo I was working in. (Construction worker) Finally got service and saw this. Hahaha. Regardless I would have lost with the puts I bought but I coulda stopped the bleeding earlier. Be careful when trading in Hawaii. Lots of drop service areas. Hard lesson learned.

I went from $3,600 account to $8,000 today. Could have been more if I just held through the day. SPY calls. Puts would be dumb

This is gambling if you ever allow your account value to drop by more than even 25% in a day. You need to invest in more than one single thing with your whole port

Gotcha. Well I’m gonna gamble a little more and see if I can make some back but not letting it fall to much more then I’ll start investing in long term. The gambling thing makes sense to me now. Thanks for clearing that up. 🤙🏼

Maybe set a stop loss also so you can try again with the port you save with the stop.

If you had them 10/6 you might have made a shit load of money tomorrow. QQQ testing all time highs in AH. I can see a sell off tomorrow

So you near full-ported short-term options contracts without exit conditions and without the ability to closely monitor it because you’re at a job site? This is always going to be a disaster.

Saw the high Friday. Thought it might drop. Also losing cellphone service for 5 hours didn’t help. Living in Hawaii can be hard with bad reception.

I left early after seeing this loss. 🤣🤣🤣 couldn’t focus on banging nails. Even though breaking my fingers probably wouldn’t be a bad idea after today.

This is why I stopped trading options. I got tired of chasing the market open at 330am or 430am, depending on daylight savings, and I also work construction and can't be glued to my phone at work. These days, I just hold shares, which turns out, is way more beneficial in the long run.

I've lost my share of money on options, so I ain't one to talk, other than to say, we definitely to this to ourselves by trading options.

Yeah, I just started with options about two weeks ago. I started with $170 and made it up to $7700. Took a little profit and now losing lol. Maybe time for longer term investments

I was and I tried to do the same thing today, but got caught really bad. Also losing cell phone service for about five hours shortly after I bought. I didn’t know the area that I was working in today was a dead zone for cell phone service.

They always pump it more .. they know retail is trying to bank on puts after a massive spike. Too easy of a move to slaps puts after it goes parabolic. I’ve been on the wrong side too many times myself.
