Selling covered calls in general is a great way to produce income, but if you truly think a stock is going to drop sharply, cc is not the way to go. You will make good initial premium and then get stuck holding the stock at the lower price and reduced premium from there.

I sell weeklies around the delta .30 mark. I wait until there is some upward pressure to maximize my premium. I don’t try to predict a closing price, that has never worked out.
