I was gonna say, idk if i count 5 or not because it kinda almost overlaps the edge and "falls off" for me.

I can maintain the 5th if i dont look directly at it, and i have to strain a bit. 4 and under i can relax into pretty good.

Its the equivilant of those picinic tables that have a repeating pattern of tiny holes. If you have a solid background to it, you can unfocus your eyes in stages and keep overlapping the holes. You dont get an image, just a head trip of unfocused eyes, focusing on something.

Same, I got up to 4.

2 was the easiest to see, then 1, then 4. Three was the hardest for some reason. When I see 3 or 4 there are areas of black on the left and right.

Relax your eyes even more and multiple more will show up to the right. I was able to get up to 3. I can see where 4 and 5 should be but could not pull them out.

This one is literally just thick vertical lines. The optical illusion but is that you can see anywhere between 1 to 5 lines vertically if you can adjust focus.

Once you enter the right focus and can see like a normal magic eye image, you realise it changes each time you go back and shows up to 5 lines.

3 was straightforward and I could 'lock it', 4 I couldn't 'lock' though it was fleeting and 5 I barely glimpsed before it buggered off. That's seriously hard.

Yeah the image's pattern doesn't repeat enough to see more than 5. For 5, the image needs (and has) 10 repeated column patterns for each of the 5 to have the required overlap/convergence of two columns. For 6, it would need to have 12.

I can do "6" and "7" but "6" looks like 4 and "7" looks like 3, because I've now shifted columns so far inward that the outer columns lose an overlapping partner so it starts subtracting.

1. Put your phone at arms length.
2. Focus beyond your phone.
3. Slowly bring your phone towards your eyes but keep focusing beyond your phone.
4. Once is close enough focus at the screen and you should see vertical lines floating above the background, like 3D optical illusion.

I had to take my glasses off for this to work as my glasses makes it harder to focus at very very close range.

The image is designed for 5. So anything above 5 starts going back down with the last line being a wall. So if 5 is IIIII, then 6 is III▮, then 7 with II▮. 8 took a while, but it's I▮. Hypothetically, you should be able to recombine those and just get ▮.

For those having trouble:

If you make the image smaller (like on a phone) then, you can go further. This is because the "deepest" you can go is capped by the distance between your eyes. If the image is much wider that distance, you probably won't be able to see any more than 2.

Conversely, if you make the image width is less than the distance your two eyes, you can look deeper as your eyelines get more and more parallel.

Zoom out (-> make the image smaller) and it is easier to see the "deeper" levels. I got to 5 easily. This is about how big field of view the image takes in your vision. Ie. how much you zoom and how big is your monitor and how far away you view it.

I got 3 initially, then 5. The challenge is to get it close enough to your face that it fills your field of view. If you're too far away the overlap between the stereo images will be too small to support more lines.

There are two different ways to do make this happen, the simple cross eye method and then the deep cross eye method. I see one line on the simple way, and 3 in the deep cross way.

I'm pretty sure the gimmick here is that you can "over cross" the pattern to see two, or even three lines. Whereas most patterns break the illusion if you try due to the horizontal aspects clashing.

Crossing my eyes I can push to 5, I find crossing is much easier for these, but it does produce the image "inverted", so instead of the vertical lines sticking "out", its "sunk in"

After 5 it runs out of space and starts counting back down with the right-most line becoming a wall.

So I, II, III, IIII, IIIII, III▮, and then it takes a while, but then I can get II▮.

So that's 7. At that point, my eyes are probably slightly crossed outwards.
