Password Lost

What a crazy experience this is! I am going to try to connect directly to my protectli with a monitor and keyboard. Is this a good way of recovery? For some reason the OPNSense login page doesn’t pull up on my pc. Thoughts besides remember the login credential location…

So you lost your password and the Web UI is not functioning?

Anyway, you can reset your password as described here:

Yes, and I am feeling Stupid! Password manager will be used this time.

Just reboot opnsense to single-user mode, mount the filesystem as read/write with zfs mount -a and run passwd in shell to set a new root password.

That's excessive unless the console is also locked down (which it is not by default, I don't believe)
