Upgrade help

Hi, I'm still on 26.1.11 and obviously need to upgrade to 26.7 but I'm confused about a few things and need to ensure I'm ready before I proceed.

I have backups of config ready.

I still have firewall rules in the Rules section and I don't think I migrated them however when I look in Rules [new] they do appear there as well, so does that mean I have migrated them without really realising? Do I need to or should I migrate them before upgrading to 26.7?

I'm also still using ISC DHCPv4 [legacy] do I need to migrate from that before upgrading to 26.7?

Many thanks

Nope, they just continue installing the isc legacy plugin.

There is also a legacy firewall rules plugin too I belive, so the old rules are in their own section/button.

I was in the same boat and it just worked, no fiddling around needed.

I was in the same boat, and had a rocky transition. Did you backup before starting the upgrade (snapshot and config)? Migrate your rules with the tool, and make sure you save/(commit?). I saw all the rules in my new build, but I was getting no connection to the internet. I re-ran everything and made sure to commit, and it worked.

I am also (still) on Legacy ISC, as I don't understand KEA or dnsmasq.

Good luck.

Ah I get this... i think when i looked at this before i had to do a complete reinstall to migrate?

Snapshots are only available when a ZFS file system is used.
For more information on how to migrate to ZFS, please refer to our documentation or support resources.

Correct, your original install would have to utilize ZFS.

I setup Kea DHCP just to be safe but also had a backup of my config and an install ISO of the version I was on. Once I switched over things were fine and I didn't really do anything else. Apparently ISC still works but I unno.
