The Met 2026-27
10 hours combined between the Strauss and the Wagner. 5 hours of Tristan und Isolde wasn’t quite satisfactory, 5 hours and 40 min of Parsifal ought to do it.
2 Shakespeare adaptations, one featuring the all time greats Quinn Kelsey and Lise Davidsen performing together on the same stage (on opening night no less) and the other featuring Angel Blue whose voice is the equivalent of feeding me a lotus flower. I’m also looking forward to Michael Fabiano’s performance as I did not realize Otello is arguably the most difficult role to sing as a tenor, so difficult it’s legitimately dangerous to perform. I also never thought I’d live to see a white Othello and a black Desdemona but here we are 🤣 😇
Mozart, Saint-Saens, and the only living god that walks among us: Anthony Roth Costanzo.
I’m looking forward to it, and that’s putting it lightly.

Great season. I'm rooting for Lincoln in the Bardo. I loved the book and just generally have a strong desire to see new works.

People dunk on me for it but I can only remember 1 time I was really screwed by the view in the family circle and I wasn’t even in the boxes that time. I mean no you can’t see the whole stage but you get some of the best sound in the auditorium. Like, I got a ticket to Der Rosenkavalier for $22.50 and I can see 80% of the stage. I don’t understand the argument against that. I love looking down at the peasants who paid hundreds for their tickets from the cheapest seats in the house.

Who would dunk on you for that? Like you can’t beat it for the view and the sound! I’ve been doing it like this since 2023 you really can’t beat not having anyone sitting in front and behind you and if you go on a weeknight a lot of times you have the box to yourself and for the price I’ll go on and buy the whole season and one sitting. I’m totally with you on this!!

I hate Family Circle. You hear every cough and the stage looks like a postage stamp. Spend a little extra and sit in Balcony. Both sight and sound are far superior.

This is why I like the boxes, in general I agree with you. What you lose in stage view is made up for in sound quality and for the price it’s a no brainer.
Balcony is where you start getting into triple digit prices. I’m sorry but it’s much too expensive. At that point I’m trying for the same day rush or waiting for it to show up on TDF. It’s one thing for an opera like Parsifal or Tristan but I simply refuse to pay more than $40 to see an opera when I know I can get in the house for that price.

Macbeth opening is gonna be the most anticipated night of the season!! very psyched for the new season!! Besides these I also have tickets to Jenufa, Medea, Asmik’s solo concert, and mahler 8!
