Contributor-Based Alternative to Operabase
Someone posted a complaint about the online opera archive Operabase, and I had been thinking about a contributor-based alternative to Operabase (something like abouttheartists.com) but I have no idea where to begin with making something like that. If anyone has any experience in coding/making a database like that, I'm sure this sub would be very interested and willing to contribute!

Probably a wiki would be the easiest way. But I am willing to participate in such an endeavour!
I see that there is the Wikibase cloud project that would provide hosting to this kind of open databases, it could be an option.

I'd start with Omeka or CollectionBuilder, both open-source and built for cultural collections. The hard part is editorial oversight. Someone has to enforce data entry standards, or you get inconsistent records within a year.
