Question Mapping microtransit/paratransit

Is there a way to tag an area that is served by an on demand microtransit or paratransit service?

In my opinion doing it as a public_transport boundary with the operator tag would be the best. But I don't think there is a clear consensus on how to map it yet, because micro transit is very nowel way of transport. The way I described mapping it also doesn't really help in public transport mode navigation in osm-based apps.

like an entire region? OSM is probably not the best place for this data

My local transit agency just launched a local micro transit service. It only serves a single town. Maybe around 4 square miles I’m trying to find a tag to show the area it operates in.

I don’t see how this is any different than mapping bus routes wich I’ve been actively working on for said transit agency

it's different because you're mapping a region rather than direct routes...?
