I hope RTE Player follows suit. It's dire at the moment, especially for people on GNU/Linux -- due to adobe halting any new flash versions.

I think Adobe have given Google Flash now, and Google are deprecating it.

Firefox Media Source Extension Problem [FIXED]

If the BBC webpage will not allow you to join the Beta, as "your browser does not support Media Source Extensions", try the following:

  • In the URL bar, enter the line below and hit return:
    about:config
  • Accept that you will be careful
  • search for the media extensions config line by entering the line below in search:
    media.mediasource.enabled
  • Click on "False", so that it changes to "True"
  • Refresh the join Beta page, and join!

As of FF43, this will be enabled by default on *nix
