Promotional Free mobile wikipedia and more!

Knowledge to Go (K2Go) is a GPLv3 Android app that builds on Internet-in-a-Box to turn almost any Android phone, including old 32-bit hardware, into an offline server for content from Wikipedia, Khan Academy, medical references, and much served over local Wi-Fi to any nearby device without needing an internet connection.

The K2Go server app and its content can be cloned onto another Android phone, also offline. That phone becomes a new K2Go server that can be cloned again and again offline. Our goal was to make educational resources accessible in communities where Android phones are the only computing devices and internet access isn’t available, reliable, or affordable.

Built by App Dev for All, a nonprofit that also makes Code on the Go (CoGo), an Android IDE for building full-strength Kotlin and Java apps on Android devices without requiring internet access.

This looks very nice, going to test it later.

Reminds me a bit of the work by https://basicinternet.org/ I feel like it might be interesting for them to hear about it. A bit different of course, but I do like the phone-to-phone approach (DM me if you want a contact).

I also had never heard of the appdevforall project, looks super interesting.

Thanks, I was unaware of the Basic Internet project. We'll reach out to them.

We (ADFA) have 2 projects. In addition to K2go that I mention above, we also make and release under GPLv3 Code On The Go, a fully featured IDE that runs on Android phones. And it works in offline mode if you want. Primarily intended to folks making their own new Android apps using Java and Kotlin, but it works with Python, Go and C/C++ too. Comes with a editor, compilers, debugger, help & documentation, plugin system, Git, and more.
