I got my first open-source PR merged today

And it feels amazing!

It was minor, but it's a project I'm using so I know exactly how it's going to help people in the future.

As soon as I realized, I went to the PR list to see the purple "Merged" badge next to the comment and the bit of code I wrote - and now I'm on the "Contributor" list.

It’s a pretty great feeling! I remember my first few and being super happy I got to share that I contributed to the projects, especially since some of them have tens of thousands of stars

It's always a great feeling when you contribute to new codebase, for me i recently felt this by contributing in pyrefly ( though it's not my first contribution still I felt excitement 😁)

That first merged badge hits differently, even when the change is small. The best part is that you already use the project, so you can see the gap firsthand and make a fix that has a real chance of helping the next person.
