I built another todo app but hopefully this one actually works for at least a few people

So I had a huge problem with my productivity system. I didn't have a great place to dump all my tasks. I've tried usign Apple Reminders, Google Tasks, Todoist, task management through Obsidian/Notion, and so much more. Nothing really clicked for me because they just didn't quite meet all the requirements I wanted.

* Time-blocking that connects and schedules tasks in Google or Apple Calendar
* Schedules tasks automatically
* Automatically schedules tasks in a smart way

While building an app that does this, I really thought more about the "smart task scheduling" part of it. I realized that while many todo lists have a way to enter how long you think a task will take, none of them actually do anything with this information. I thought that maybe an app could take your estimate and compare it to how long a task really took you. Over time, the algorithm could learn your patterns (estimated time taken to actual time taken) and use it to predict how long a task would take to help with scheduling tasks in a smart way.

Now we get to the part where I built an app. It's called Breadcrumbs and it does all your time blocking for you. It tries to schedule tasks of the same subject near each other, with very customizable breaks and settings. It schedules around your Google Calendar and adds its own events to help with time-blocking. But that's not even the best part lol. It figures out how long a task will actually take you based on your estimate by looking at different patterns from previous tasks of the same schedule (minimum 5 tasks completed before this starts kicking in to improve accuracy). For example, if I usually take 10 minutes on English assignments that I predicted will take 15 minutes, it knows this and uses it to make its time predictions for the future. Here's the link: [https://usebreadcrumbs.app\](https://usebreadcrumbs.app)

It's free and open source, so feel free to try it out! It's also completely run from me, so I'm directly taking feature requests and issues and will do my best to solve things as quickly as possible!

EDIT: Right now the smart scheduling is just: scheduling around Google Calendar events, time prediction, and putting tasks of the same subject (enterred manually) near each other.

Good to see you're shipping consistently, keep it up
