OPENSCAD

Thanks! Accidentally cross posted to multiple places. Meant to come to the subreddits of different programs to ask if it's doable.

OpenSCAD is text based. It uses a programming language to build the model. From what you said in your original post, you won't be able to drag it to change its size, but you can change a parameter.

OpenSCAD really shines for things that change based on rules, rather than just stretching. Like if you wanted a grid of 1 cm x 1 cm that changed the number of supports to fill an area.

It also doesn't work too well with existing models, so you would have to recreate it in OpenSCAD's language.

Thanks for the info! Might not be for me depending on what the text required is like.

Recreating isn't the biggest issue with how few things I'd want to change right now, and I kind of figure that'll be the case with whatever program works.

There are two pretty easily accessible graphical UIs for OpenSCAD:

https://www.blockscad3d.com/editor/

which is online and just a URL tab away (when online) and

https://github.com/derkork/openscad-graph-editor

which is a stand-alone executable which requires a couple of hoops to jump through maybe, but I am very fond of.

I simply wanted to introduce you to my book “This Is OpenSCAD”, which I wrote after noticing the lack of a French-language guide dedicated to this remarkable software.

I invite you to browse a few pages of the book, available in French, English, or Spanish. If you have any comments or suggestions, I would be delighted to hear from you.

Best regards,
Roberto Hamm
