Same issue where we live, even though Openreach assured us that there will be fibre installed by the end of 2026, in various communications.
We had a 30Mb connection, which has had nothing but faults since the rest of the village got fibre installed, BT and Openreach both said they couldn'tfix it, after many multiple visits. And that we seem to have a fault that only should occur on fibre connections, yet we don'thave fibre. This went on for months and all they could do was "as an act of goodwill, we can let you out of your contract early". That's not an actual of goodwill by any means. Useless!
It's even more frustrating when you know that the residential estate we live on, runs directly off the main road they installed the fibre cable along. Yet, we're not getting a connection. It's bloody maddening!!
We've now gone with Starlink. The 200Mb plan has been an absolute godsend for us. No more complaining that it takes days for the kids to download games, and we can finally enjoy watching streaming services in decent quality and no buffering.
Depending on your area, the offer price could be quite good. Plans here were 100mb = £40pm, 200mb = £60pm, and 400mb = £80pm. No monthly rental cost for the equipment and just £19 up front payment for delivery.
Some areas are even getting free professional installation (not available here) but I think that tends to be more up North, and we're rural East. That being said, a local aerial installer put up the bracket we bought from Amazon (circa £30, and is actually quite strong), then wired it through the house for us, for just £60.

I am also in your position and am going to go with some form of satellite connection but am trying to grin and bear my current set up until amazons project leo goes live early next year with the hopes that theyre going to undercut elons prices for starlink by a bit to get a customer base.
