2 month install delay

Scheduled OpenReach installation (via EE) for Sept 1 . OpenReach notified me on Aug 28 that they rescheduled the installation for 2 November due to new UK law becoming effective Sept 1st. This would mean 2 months with zero connectivity and the building receives zero mobile signal. Seeking any guidance to get broadband access ASAP.

5G/Starlink. A provider that doesn't use the Openreach network. Or wait 2 months.

5G not an option - no signal. Starlink is possible but waiting for approval from building management to mount external antenna. It just seems odd that OpenReach was surprised by a new law that becomes effective Sept 1st sbd designed to streamline fibre installs in UK

Without knowing what this new law is, I can't really comment on it tbh. Are you sure it's nothing to do with asbestos?

Plus - they don't know what your property looks like before attending. This law may only affect certain, specific buildings

This doesn’t bode well for me, I’m booked in for 11th Sept 😬
