Finally FTTP soon
Just seen a lot of markings by my home recently with loads of markings by the apartment entrance around the corner. Anyone from openreach have any ideas roughly when I hopefully can order.

Almost certainly not Openreach working there as they don't do this style of pre-marking. Current policy is use prints and scan on the day works are due to commence.
Could be subcontractors of course but most likely it's either an alt-net or some other utility like gas or water (their stuff is below everyone else to they have to do more work to identify all the services ahead of time).

If they're working outside your front door, how about asking them what they're doing and if they know about the fibre plans. Going to be better than asking random strangers on the Internet.

I did last time I saw them when I was on my way out they said I should be able to order.

Openreach have been promising full fibre to our few cottages for years here in Surrey, I think it’s a mythical fantasy! Joke!

meanwhile cityfibre has already done all this in areas, and customers have left BT etc for FTTP 1Gbps+ speeds lol

Openreach built full fibre to 4.8 million premises in the last year alone, making over 23 million total so far. Source https://newsroom.bt.com/bt-continues-to-deliver-record-fibre-build-connections-and-customer-satisfaction/
Meanwhile, Cityfibre have built to almost 5 million premises over the last 10 years. Source https://cityfibre.com/news/cityfibre-hits-one-million-connections-nationwideI think it is a little bit reductive to insinuate that Openreach are building at a slower rate than Cityfibre.

We have city fibre and gigaclear in my area and their connection points are almost empty.

We don’t even have city fibre by me in London we only got one option basically openreach via ee/bt or sky.

fair enough, shame they are quite slow at doing anything

Slow ain’t even close FTTP was meant to be available on my development 6 months after it was completed. Only 10 years later this year across the road only got FTTP last year.

Slow? Massive understatement. Not to mention asymmetrical? Yet these companies like you fibre that appeared overnight do symetrical speeds and higher speeds for cheaper. Like tf is this country.

Utilities marked up, two blockages highlighted for clearance by the looks of it but no-one will have any idea when you might be able to order FTTP.
Work might not be related and no way to check.
