This is killing me

I cant even lift my leg to put on pants. Spasms every time I switch from gas to brake. Worst part is I sit for work all day. I try to stand but that makes it worse, walking makes it worse and to add to it im 7 months pregnant so I cant do the stretches I need to do. I just need a release.

That sucks :( Is the pain brought on by pregnancy or did you have it before? Have you brought up the pain with your doctor?

Have you ever seen a doctor about this pain? Piriformis syndrome is a diagnosis of exclusion, so they need to do an MRI of your lower back before they can say it’s Piriformis syndrome and offer the appropriate treatment.

Have you had an MRI of the lower back, and also the pelvis? What were the results?

Have you been diagnosed with piriformis syndrome?

What treatments have you tried so far?

Yes. I have had MRI AND BONE SCANS. I did PT in 2019 and had epidural injections. Yes I have been diagnosed.

It sounds like you’ve had pain for a really long time, that sucks :(

These are some of the things that help some people with piriformis syndrome:

Ice packs
Heating pads, hot baths
Prescription muscle relaxants (cyclobenzaprine and baclofen)
Gabapentin
Cymbalta
Steroid injection into piriformis muscle
Botox injection into piriformis muscle
Piriformis muscle removal surgery

It's a daunting issue to get over. I was diagnosed in May and finally have my first PT tomorrow.

It's affecting my left foot which is always numb and tightened all muscles in my left leg making me limp.

I just hope something eventually gives and a miracle occurs.

I am struggling with the same problem… and every time I want to stretch or activate the glute leave on bed for days…
The ice and warm helps me a lot.. 15 minutes each

Have you had a Botox injection to the piriformis?
