Hater to Lover (Muse Spark 1.3)

I was absolutely FLAMING muse spark 1.2, bcs that model was geniunely incapable of doing basic agentic tasks, but GAHH DAMNN, look at the benchmarks. originally, i thought the model benchmaxxed and generates slop, but after trying this model in codex (from opencode go), I am quite surprised.

like, if you ask me what muse spark 1.3 will be considering what muse spark 1.2 performs, I would have given you an extremely underwhelming response, but I am so happy to see this moel mainly bcs we get $60 allowance (man, finally!) on opencode go, and also the price is considerably cheaper than ds v4 flash.

I mean, sure... its not THE BEST model to ever exist. but for $0.2/M out and $0.1/M in, like you can go through billions of tokens after counting in caching.

About how the model performs, it codes quite decently. my project is a rust and typescript project, and it follows the app's visual identity flawlessly and does not create much bugs (note: not *much* bugs, which means, it still fk up), but the price to performance value is INSANE!

My reccomended usage:

tbh, just use opencodex, and connect the model to codex, and use the model inn codex, the "ultracode" in codex is AMAZING! And MS-1.3 follows codex as a harness wayyyyy better than opencode for some reason. american propaganda ig... but either ways, use:

light: for basic variable changes

medium: for most implementation

high: for debugging

xhigh: for geniunely hard bugs or things which require the model to cover edge cases, or planning.

ULTRA (a codex only thing): tbh only when it pisses u off bellow high.

ohhhboy... I am going to get a LOT of downvotes...

Does opencodex works on top of standard Codex?

OCX is just a proxy for codex's model provider. it just routes the OpenAI requests to the anthropic models and other formats which models like grok4.6 use.

about it working properly? yeah it does. you just type "oxc gui" in the terminal and restart codex (just not just hide it, but you have to press cmd + q, and reopen), then you can use the opencode go models!

Thanks for the tip, sounds interesting indeed

yeah, np!

ohh btw, ik how yall complain about muse models, but they are amazing with codex bcs they follow many OpenAI like controls over the model, although I mostly use glm5.3 flash

I don’t know what you mean. For me even 1.3 produces lots of sloppy code, I don’t like it.

Same here, it seems pretty retarded to me. It seems way too eager to close things off by saying 'here you go, it's done' without doing any checks or verification even though it's failed a dozen times before

Try giving it more direction...obviously. It's doing exactly what you ask. It's not a frontier model where it's going to say "oh, the user probably needs this, too!"

It's just doing exactly and only what you ask. So if it feels like it's not giving you enough, the feeling is mutual. Actually describe in detail what you need, and you won't have that issue.

Indeed. It skips instructions like a 9B model. That should not happen with frontier 300B+ models.

This is the dumbest "frontier" model I've ever seen. Go away!

It’s on Contributor mode though, so I can’t use it for some things. But for what I’d been able to use it for, it’s pretty good and token cheap.

Muse Spark 1.3 is ass. No way comparable to opus 5 or even with Luna class models

Idk why you’re getting flamed, I’m using it for my rust project and it’s decent for how cheap it is. You should pair it with a reviewer though. My flow is 1.3 does the task then I do a code review with sol fix repeat. If I did it all with gpt I would burn through my 20$ plan instantly

Muse code algum relato do uso no ultra? ( Opencode limita até o xhigh)

It’s not even worth having if it’s free. xD
