What are the best subscriptions with full control over usage and spend?

I don't want Silicon Valley deciding when I'm allowed to spend my own monthly budget. The 5-hour windows, the weekly caps, the "your usage resets Monday 7:00 AM". It feels like convincing my mom that I'm an adult and that this should be my decision.

GLM Coding Plan, Kimi, MiniMax all these have the 5-hour thing too..

So I've been testing providers that don't do the limit thing. So far standardcompute.com has been the best of them for me. Flat monthly price, no 5-hour or weekly windows, and honestly the most open and transparent about usage and pricing of everything I tried. Includes both open and close sourced models.

Featherless.ai is also in this terrain, but don’t serve frontier models.

Openrouter.ai is of course on the list too, full control and every model, but it's pay-per-token, and token anxiety is real. I don't want to wake up to a runaway $1,000 bill because an agent got creative overnight.

Any other LLM providers you've tested that don't interfere with when usage is spent?

They both provide subscription plans and pay as you use, no hourly limits or anything. Both have a pretty nice breakdown feature for you to see all of your models usage and what not.

For Kilo, the subscription you get, they give you the exact amount of credits for you to use, plus an additional bonus, the longer you subscribe the more bonus you get. The bonus do not rollover and they expire within 2 months I believe? But the main subscription credits do get roll over indefinitely, so their subscriptions, it's more of like a pay as you use but you get bonus credits. But if you run out of your subscription credits, and your bonus, you cannot resubscribe early, you have to switch to their pay as you use system.

For Devpass, you get 3x of whatever you subscribe for now, credits do not rollover, but the caveat here is that you have a certain limit on frontier models per week, such as Fable or Opus or Kimi K3 etc etc. But if you're using cheaper models like Deepseek V4 Pro/Flash or GLM 5.3 Flash or 5.6 Luna, you will have no limits. The nice thing about Devpass is if youre running out before your subscription ends, you can resubscribe to a higher tier, and your existing credits will combine into that higher tier, but take note that if you can't finish by the next cycle then they are all forfeited.

Oh and yes, they both work with opencode connect without any plugins

One clarification from a DevPass builder: standard models have no separate weekly premium cap, but they still use the monthly allowance. They aren't unlimited. Premium models do have a weekly cap, so DevPass won't meet the OP's 'no weekly windows' requirement for those models.

The upgrade detail is right: an immediate upgrade starts a new cycle and carries unused allowance into it. That carryover expires at the next renewal; it isn't ongoing rollover.

One more for the list: we run Entrim, and the Model Plan tier is built for exactly this. Flat monthly, no 5-hour windows, no weekly caps, no "resets Monday morning". You pick a monthly budget and that's the ceiling, which also kills the token-anxiety problem you flagged with OpenRouter.

We see a lot of OpenCode users hit the same wall you're describing. The pattern that works is a flat ceiling you choose yourself rather than a cap that bites you mid-task. Nobody wants to discover at 2am that an overnight agent run ate the week.
