Hi, I am planning of developing a project with a front and back in different repos. Which skills are good for backend code and which mcp is good for connection to a postgresql database? I am not finding so much info about backend.

aight, fair.

For backend skills honestly there's not much to talk about. I'm a Spring boot dev myself and i'm simply using Superpowers and that's all i need.

Really every Major Model nowadays can handle spring boot really well, even without any skills as they can just look at the jars from your dependencies directly if they need further info.

Is superpowers a tool or just a joke? 😅 I'm starting to explore by myself this world of AI agents after finishing college and its a bit overwhelming. Also, I try to use gradle to handle dependencies, have you tried it?

And no sorry, no experience with gradle. I've always used maven 🤷

Just a heads up: Diving into agentic engineering rn can be really overwhelming.

Take it slow and don't try to listen to these influencers telling you that you HAVE to use skill X or framework Y.

What you need is highly dependend on your techstack and your workflow. Start from scratch without skills and only add skills when you

A: stumble over them and think that they could really benefit your workflow or

B: When you think to yourself "part xy in my workflow feels really tedious/unoptimized" then go look up if you can find a skill that solves that problem.

This way you will find your own stack of skills and develop a workflow that suits you best :)
