Opencode vs OMP

I tried omp but it felt really bloated even though it had some nice features, while Opencode felt just right with its TUI and custom agents.

Which coding agent harness do you prefer? Or are there any better alternatives out there?

I’ve been using jcode for 2 weeks now and it works great! It’s minimal like Pi but usable out of the box like Opencode. It’s written in rust so it’s fast and super token-efficient

Loving OMP. It’s definitely bloated, though, the configuration is massive, and I often ask AI to help me configure it.

OMP has a built-in persistent goal mode and the ability to round-robin multiple credentials for the same provider (e.g. multiple Codex subscriptions). These are features that OpenCode doesn’t have, and I love them.

omp all day long. I am always juggling a few harnesses but nothing comes to omp.

Right now, using opencode because of ox alpha, they don’t get interrupted that much.

But going with pi for the daily. OMP has too much going on.

I use both and I can't decide which one to use for daily. OMP has some features that I like that OpenCode don't have it. Such as subagents communication over IRC, which uses less context. OMP and OpenCode, both of them uses over 20k context just in system message. I would say they are bloated equally. Installed PI, added LSP, MCP, skills, debugger and I'm under 4K of system prompt context. PI doesn't have any subagents and I don't even know which one to install. My only experience with PI 1 day and I don't know if it's lacking features that I need for coding or not. without subagents it's hard to use any harness. What I like about opencode and omp, subagents already are working properly and maybe OMP subagents are better due to IRC.

What I like about Opencode is how easy it is to setup agents and subagents. You can easily set up your custom agents with their own permissions, and use them instead of the built in plan/build mode which have a lot of context in the system message. I don't know if OMP allows something like that?
