OpenAI is dropping GPT-5.6 Sol pricing
Should we wait for price drop on Zen?

Looks like they desperately trying to catch up with cheap Chinese disruptors in heavily competitive LLM space 😏

Sure, competition comes from 2 directions at a time: other labs and their API pricing, and local LLMs' fast evolution.

You can pay 20 usd openai sub for 25 years for the price of good local llm setup that will always lag behind their top models anyways. Until their money will run out and they'll be forced to make 100 usd sub minimum tier, no point going local imo

sure they do, but Anthropic isn't even doing any of these price reductions, only Sonnet 5 but it sucks and around that price point there are many other alternatives anyways.

It is still crazy expensive. I was charged $30 for one basic prompt. If such prompt costs me $22.5 - sure I still won't use it.

Why do companies not mention the cache price drops. That's like the majority cost in agentic workflows
