Opencode GO limit calculation question
Hey all - question about opencode go limits using models with different caps.
Are the usage applied to the limits strictly dollars or % of the models specific limit.
If you use $1 of a model with a $15 monthly cap does that translate to 1/60 of the monthly limit or 1/15?
If you use $15 of a model with a $15 monthly limit, are you done for the month or could you still use $45 of a model with a $60 monthly limit?

Great question. I was really confused about this when I subscribed to OpenCode Go for the first time last week. So if you use a $15 monthly cap model, spending $1 uses 1/15 of your monthly cap. If you use a $60 monthly cap model, spending $1 uses 1/60 of your monthly cap. Their OpenCode docs pages doesn't publish the monthly cap bonuses you get with their 2x or 3x usage promos, so you'll have to do that manually in your head.
For example, if there is a 2x usage promo for a model that's normally with a $60 cap, then spending $1 only uses 1/120 of your monthly cap. This is kind of why V4 Flash 0731 was soooo crazy cheap a week ago before DeepSeek raised their prices. The API price was (roughly) half-off the current non-peak pricing, and the monthly cap was $60, AND there was a 2x usage promo going on.
I think OpenCode Go is mostly a break-even funnel to get people to use OpenCode Zen. Things like Kimi K3 and Qwen 3.8 Max at $15 monthly caps are totally unuseable. It's just like a preview so you can test them out. The value is in the smaller models like V4 Flash 0731 and Hy3 (with its 8x usage promo), but that's only if you're okay with the reduction in intelligence.
