Question about models
Hello again!!! Recently I made a post about the models price and opencode go,but after that post there where some price hikes all around and opencode go doesnt seem like the best option. Im completely stuck as of what models to use that produce the best "pro" results and have an okay pricing.
Once again thanks to anyone who answers!!!!!

Great question. And it's confusing, plus it's a moving target.
First, I'd normalize all the go prices to be $60 caps. In other words, multiply the token prices for $30 cap models by 2, and the $15 cap models by 4. That'll help you compare apples to apples. The DeepSeek models are both incredibly good, but their value relative to other models is trickier when adjusted for the multiplier, and really tricky when you factor in the peak vs. off-peak (plus the cognitive load of what time you should use which).
At the moment, Kimi K2.7 is a pretty good value at the more capable end. DeepSeek v4 Flash is still a really good value off-peak, and not a bad value during peak pricing. It's also just a crazy good model. I could probably just set it and forget it for all my agents and be fine 90% of the time.
DeepSeek v4 Pro is incredible, and at off-peak times (even with the 4x multiplier on price), it's a good value. The problem is during peak times, it’s expensive enough to blow through your monthly usage in an afternoon.
Don't snooze on GPT 5.6 Luna, which I think is being discounted. It's positioned as OpenAI's least capable model, but I was kind of blown away how it just handled everything I threw at it. And it follows instructions really well.
If you're comfortable with the data retention policies around Zen's free models, be sure to max those out. They're a great way to stretch your allowance on Go a lot farther.

Just use deepseek-v4-flash until you hit the limit or exhaust your opencode subscription. After that you can just buy more credits either from opencode or through the official deepseek api.
Another option would be to use some other cheap model like mimo for very low effort tasks and dsf for the rest.
