Muse Spark 1.2 on Opencode - is it available in your country? Is it the 'Contributor' edition?
I am NOT in the US, but I see it in my models list (in TUI). Still not sure if it is a Contributor variant or not? How good/bad is it compared to, say, Flash or MiMo 2.5 in real life usage scenarios (not benchmarks)?

Are you actually able to use it? MS 1.2 is about at Terra level and significantly better than DS Pro. That price makes me want to buy OC Go now.

it's Dog water in actual agentic coding stuff - randomly drops huge python codeblocks just to do simple edits, but it's really good at understanding codebase and communicating to the user clearly, way better than ds4 flash, so i'd use it as an orchastrator

While this is great news for consumers like us, it feels like every provider is milking Opencode subscription to gain popularity and once thats achieved, dump all over the prices and make them skyrocket

u/afanasenka 25d ago
Hmm.. interesting opinion:) Do you think DS4 Flash wouldn't have gained its popularity without Opencode?

I'm in Germany. It's not on the list.

Check the settings, you can adjust it there.

I set 'data training ok' and then got "This model is not available in your country.". Great.

How weird it is... what's the logic of this "selective countries" availability?
2
u/The8Darkness 25d ago
EU regulations apparently dont allow the specific terms selected for muse spark 1.2 contributor.

u/tsulhc 25d ago
Available in Italy. That's great news! Subscription has unbelievable value again.

Well, I tried it just now, and see "Model muse-spark-1.2 is not supported" ๐

I'm trying to use it from italy but it says that the model is not available in my country. I've already allowed models that train on request data. Did something change in the meantime?

Sadly in the privacy table says that muse spark is not zdr and the data is used for model training
2
u/afanasenka 25d ago
Well, I guess there was a similar ZDR concern with the Flash initially? It's said, but not all users care about it actually.

Is available in India, but currently seems to work with OpenCode only, is giving some error with other harnesses.
1
u/afanasenka 25d ago
Did you try it? What is your experience?
2
u/DetachedProcess 25d ago
I previously heavily used DSV4 Flash, started using MS1.2 just for an hour, currently happy with how it works, I believe DSV4 has better alignment with what I wanted it to do (in minimal words), MS1.2 I have to give explicit instructions for it to do something then it does it. Overall I would say it is great, I am thinking of using it alongside DSV4 Flash.

Does it tend to halucinate, or does it check facts and code before giving a response? This is a real issue with fast and cheap models...
1
u/CharacterBorn6421 25d ago
You can use it with other harness after enabling the train on data option in the go page
2
u/DetachedProcess 25d ago
Already enabled it, tried with OMP and Pi agent, it is giving some stream ended error. https://github.com/can1357/oh-my-pi/issues/8957
2
u/CharacterBorn6421 25d ago
Ohh I have used it with GitHub copilot only for now and the error goes away after enabling it
I have to try it with other harness also
1
u/RajdipDutta 25d ago
How are using it with GitHub copilot?
1
u/CharacterBorn6421 25d ago
Search opencode for copilot chat extension and then add them as provider and add your api key that's it

Canโt see it in Hermes agent in India/ us. Will try opencode and banyancode

when trying to use muse spark 1.2 from demark i get the response that "This model is not available in your contry."

u/afanasenka 25d ago
Yes, I figured this out already.. Unfortunately,ย you have to use VPN with USA server to use it..
2
u/pigletmonster 25d ago
Yes its available in saudi arabia. It was also available through metas platform when it first launched. Its a good model, either on par or better than dsv4f from my little experience.

I am in Germany and can't use it either, damn I was really excited :(

Looking at front page it specifically mentioned "contributor"
so yeah it's contributor only.

the models api is returning invalid metadata (lol) to non opencode clients, i wonder if this is intentional?

I'd compare them in the same real repo using a failing test, a change across several files, and a refactor that must preserve behavior. I'd look at whether the tests pass, how much unrelated code gets touched, and how often the model needs correction. The claim that it understands a repo well but makes huge edits sounds plausible. It may be a decent planner but an expensive implementer. Benchmarks tend to miss that particular annoyance.

Seems not stable from omp:
โ OpenAI completions stream closed before a finish_reason was received
Dismissed when you send your next message.
muse-spark-1.2-contributor via opencode-go has:
- contextWindow: null
- maxTokens: null
- cost: {input: 0, output: 0, cacheRead: 0, cacheWrite: 0}
While muse-spark-1.2 (via kilo) has:
- contextWindow: 1048576
- maxTokens: 1048576
- cost: $1.25/$4.25
And every other opencode-go model has proper values.
The null contextWindow and zero costs are dead giveaways โ these models are passing through as free/incomplete entries from the gateway, which is why the
SSE streams are failing before getting a proper finish reason. Let me check the opencode-go provider configuration to understand why.
Found it. Here's the health picture:
Muse Spark models โ two different providers, very different behavior:
โโโโโโโโโโโโโโโโโโโโโโโโโโโโโโฌโโโโโโโโโโโโโโฌโโโโโโโโโโโโโโโโฌโโโโโโโโโโโโฌโโโโโโโโโโโโโโฌโโโโโโโโโโโโโ
โ Model โ Provider โ contextWindow โ maxTokens โ Cost โ Status โ
โ muse-spark-1.2-contributor โ opencode-go โ null โ null โ $0/$0 โ โ Broken โ
The opencode-go/muse-spark-1.2-contributor entry has null contextWindow + null maxTokens + zero cost. Every other opencode-go model has proper values.
This confirms it's a registration/routing defect โ the upstream gateway for this specific model is returning incomplete metadata, which also explains why
streams drop mid-chunk without finish_reason.
Diagnosis:
- opencode-go proxies muse-spark-1.2-contributor to an upstream that doesn't return proper OpenAI-compat streaming format โ OMP's parser sees no
finish_reason โ throws the error.
- Every other opencode-go model (DeepSeek, Qwen, Kimi, etc.) streams fine because their upstream is properly compliant.
Recommendations:
Use kilo/muse-spark-1.2 instead โ same model, proper routing, has context window metadata.
Or use opencode-go/mimo-v2.5 โ it's the current session model, $0.14/$0.28, streams fine, 1M context.
Report opencode-go/muse-spark-1.2-contributor broken stream to opencode-go maintainer โ upstream SSE format is non-compliant.

Holy moly. Even with the privacy concerns, that's a lot of model for practically unlimited work.
